Headquartered in Singapore, Bitdeer runs data centers worldwide with a diversified energy portfolio of 3 GW.

Responsibilities

  • Design, optimize, and implement medium to low voltage (10KV~400V) power distribution systems in data centers, including planning, electrical construction drawings, and equipment selection to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Expertise in data center power distribution frameworks such as UPS redundancy, distribution boards, and substations; independently perform design, load calculations, and validate solutions.
  • Create and review electrical layouts, cable tray, and busbar systems focusing on rational cable routing, maintenance accessibility, and space utilization to support high-density data center needs.
  • Design lighting and emergency lighting systems adhering to regulatory requirements, including illumination calculations and power distribution design for standard, maintenance, and emergency lighting.
  • Develop grounding and lightning protection systems to safeguard IT equipment and power infrastructure against electrical faults and lightning impacts.
  • Design power distribution for firefighting systems including fire pumps, smoke exhaust fans, and fire alarms with dual power transfer to ensure regulatory compliance and reliability.
  • Perform harmonic filtering and reactive power compensation to optimize power quality, reduce losses, and maintain power factor for precision equipment operation.
  • Conduct short circuit current and load calculations for proper protection device selection and setting, ensuring coordinated safety measures.
  • Collaborate with construction teams and suppliers to resolve technical queries, supervise site work, enforce quality controls, and participate in system testing and acceptance.
  • Adhere to national and international standards including GB 50174, GB 51348, NEC, and UL codes to guarantee compliance of all deliverables.
  • Develop and update power distribution system operation and maintenance plans to detect and mitigate risks, ensuring continuous power availability 24/7 and maintain technical documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Power Systems or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in medium and low voltage power distribution design and operation, preferably in large data centers (1000+ racks).
  • Proficient in designing and maintaining 10KV~400V power distribution systems and well-versed with common data center power architectures.
  • Strong skills in CAD, EPLAN, or similar software for creating electrical construction drawings.
  • Experienced in electrical layouts, cable tray and busbar design, and able to guide onsite installations effectively.
  • Expertise in lighting system design, including emergency lighting, and compliance with relevant safety standards.
  • Knowledgeable in grounding, lightning protection, and surge protection tailored for data center environments.
  • Familiar with fire protection power distribution systems including fire load classifications and dual power supply switching.
  • Technical expertise in harmonic filtering, reactive power compensation, and short circuit/load calculations for protection devices.
  • Certified or familiar with standards such as GB 50174, GB 51348, GB 50057, GB 50016, as well as US NEC and UL standards.
  • Additional certifications like Registered Electrical Engineer (Power Distribution), High Voltage Electrician License or PMP are advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience in testing, commissioning, and fault handling of data center power systems including equipment like UPS, transformers, and circuit breakers.
  • Strong project management and multi-stakeholder coordination abilities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication skills, able to work precisely under pressure and collaborate effectively.
  • Motivated to stay current with industry developments, technologies, and evolving standards.
