Role Summary

The Assistant Formwork Design Engineer role is a full-time position based on-site in Dubai. This role supports the design and detailing of formwork systems for concrete structures across various residential and commercial projects. Key duties involve preparing formwork drawings and design calculations, collaborating with structural engineers and site teams, and assisting in the selection of appropriate materials and equipment. The engineer reviews construction plans to optimize formwork solutions, ensuring cost-efficiency and ease of construction. Additionally, this role provides technical assistance during site execution and inspections, maintains thorough documentation, follows quality and safety protocols, and works closely with project stakeholders to meet deadlines and performance goals.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Solid understanding of formwork systems and their application, particularly in formwork and flatwork related to concrete construction.
• Hands-on knowledge of carpentry and power tools relevant to formwork installation and detailing.
• Experience with or coordination around heavy equipment used in construction and concrete operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; possession of relevant technical certifications in formwork or construction engineering is advantageous.
• Capability to interpret structural drawings, prepare basic design calculations, and utilize CAD or BIM software for detailing purposes.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality assurance, and compliance with regional building regulations and engineering standards.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to work efficiently with site engineers, contractors, and project leaders.
• Prior experience on building or infrastructure projects in the Middle East is beneficial, though not compulsory.
