Electrical Engineer (MEP)

Job Overview

ARK Projects is looking for a skilled and driven Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) sector to join our High Rise construction project in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role involves comprehensive responsibility for all electrical engineering stages, from design through to implementation and commissioning, adhering to local codes and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and evaluate detailed electrical designs, including single-line diagrams and layout plans aligned with project needs and Saudi Building Codes.
• Execute precise electrical load assessments, short circuit studies, voltage drop analyses, and cable dimensioning to optimize system functionality.
• Collaborate with design consultants and various disciplines to integrate electrical systems within the overall MEP design framework.
• Manage on-site electrical installation processes, ensuring compliance with drawings, technical specifications, and approved methods.
• Perform frequent QA/QC inspections to verify materials, installation techniques, and workmanship meet established quality and project standards.
• Develop and scrutinize inspection test plans (ITPs) and electrical method statements.
• Lead and engage in commissioning activities for systems such as LV distribution, lighting, small power circuits, earthing, and ELV systems.
• Coordinate with local regulatory bodies to guarantee adherence to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regulations.
• Generate progress documentation, defect listings, and as-built electrical system records.
• Ensure site safety by supporting the implementation of electrical-related health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• At least 10 years of pertinent expertise in the MEP domain, ideally within the Saudi Arabian construction sector.
• Thorough understanding of the Saudi Building Code, SEC standards, and relevant local/international codes.
• Demonstrated history in electrical design, load calculation, site supervision, QA/QC, and testing & commissioning for high-rise residential and mixed-use buildings.
• Competency in utilizing electrical design software tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary coordination abilities.
• Proficient English communication skills; Arabic language skills are a plus.
• Capability to operate effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.
