About the Role
Cactus Communications offers specialized language editing services aimed at assisting researchers in clearly presenting their findings and facilitating successful publication. This role is ideal for individuals with a robust academic background who are passionate about engaging with the latest research and enhancing scientific manuscripts' clarity and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Critically review and improve manuscripts to enhance clarity, coherence, and readability while maintaining the original meaning intended by the authors.
- Verify subject-specific terminology, conventions, and scientific arguments for accuracy, consistency, and suitability for the targeted readership.
- Enhance the presentation of complex research results to improve their communication and readiness for publication.
- Ensure final manuscripts conform to high academic writing standards, free from unclear or illogical sentences, and formatted according to guidelines of the intended journals.
Qualifications and Requirements
- PhD in Public Health or Epidemiology is required.
- A strong publication track record with at least 5 to 10 first-author papers.
- Experience with peer review processes.
- The ability to critically appraise study design, methodologies, statistical analyses, and interpretations.
- Proven capability to accurately evaluate scientific content with discipline-specific precision.
- Excellent command of written English and meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience in scientific editing or academic publishing is advantageous.
