About the Role
Join CACTUS Communications as an Editor specializing in Bioinformatics, where you will utilize your expertise to refine and enhance scientific manuscripts. You'll play a vital role in helping researchers worldwide effectively communicate their innovative findings and publish in esteemed journals.
Key Responsibilities
- Critically review and edit scientific manuscripts to enhance clarity, coherence, and overall readability, ensuring the original meaning is maintained.
- Verify the correctness and appropriateness of subject-specific terms, conventions, and scientific arguments for the intended readership.
- Present complex research results in an accessible manner to improve their communication potential and readiness for publication.
- Adhere strictly to academic writing standards, eliminating unclear, illogical, or awkward phrasing and applying journal-specific guidelines and formatting.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- PhD in Biomedical Informatics, Health Informatics, or Bioinformatics is mandatory.
- A strong publication history with at least 5 to 10 first-author papers.
- Experience in peer-review processes.
- Capability to critically evaluate study design, methodology, statistics, and result interpretation.
- Proven skill in assessing scientific content for discipline-specific accuracy.
- Exceptional English writing skills and attention to detail.
- Prior experience in scientific editing or academic publishing is desirable.
