About the Position
Nord Anglia Education invites applications for an Early Years Teacher role at Etqan Global Academy (EGA), a newly founded IB World School located in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will help develop an exceptional play-based and inquiry-led learning environment tailored for young learners within the IB PYP Early Years framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging learning activities centered on play and inquiry according to the IB PYP Early Years curriculum.
- Foster a caring, secure, and stimulating classroom atmosphere where every child feels appreciated and motivated.
- Utilize observations and portfolio documentation to assess and monitor student progress, guiding future teaching steps.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with families via ongoing communication and involvement.
- Participate actively in unit planning, reflection, and review alongside the Early Years team.
- Embed the IB learner profile and international-mindedness as well as PYP attitudes into all classroom interactions.
- Support children’s wellbeing, autonomy, and social-emotional growth.
- Engage positively in broader school activities including professional development, events, and school improvement initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a recognized qualification in Early Years, primary, or early childhood education (e.g., PGCE, QTS, B.Ed or equivalent).
- Demonstrable experience teaching children aged 3–6 in Early Years settings, preferably within an IB or international school context.
- Strong familiarity with the IB PYP Early Years framework or a comparable inquiry-based early years curriculum.
- Solid understanding of child development concepts and play-based, child-led learning strategies.
- Excellent communication abilities paired with a warm and nurturing disposition towards children and families.
- Committed to inclusive educational practices and safeguarding child wellbeing.
- Experience in international school environments is advantageous.
