Role Overview

The Social Worker position at NAS Abu Dhabi is pivotal to enhancing students' academic achievement, emotional health, and social growth from FS1 to Year 13. The role involves close collaboration with students, families, educators, and external organizations to deliver assessments, interventions, and family support, ensuring a safe and nurturing home environment conducive to students thriving academically and socially.

The role emphasizes building strong partnerships between school and home, facilitating family access to community resources, and addressing social, emotional, and environmental challenges that could impact student learning, attendance, and well-being. The Social Worker also supports the school's safeguarding framework and inclusive practices based on local education regulations and UAE child protection legislation.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and deliver interventions to support student welfare and academic success.
• Collaborate closely with families, educators, and external agencies to address student needs.
• Promote and strengthen school-home cooperation to foster supportive relationships.
• Guide families in accessing community support services that benefit student well-being.
• Address social, emotional, and environmental factors impacting student engagement and attendance.
• Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies and UAE child protection laws.

Requirements

• Relevant qualifications and experience in social work within an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of child welfare, safeguarding, and inclusive educational practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders including families and external agencies.
• Commitment to promoting the welfare and safety of students in compliance with local legislation.
