Job Overview
The Early Morning Stock Associate plays a vital role in ensuring customers enjoy a positive shopping experience. This position requires creating a welcoming environment by greeting customers politely, maintaining a clean and organized store atmosphere, and supporting store operations across all departments as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain safety as the top priority by adhering to safe work practices and promptly addressing any hazardous conditions to ensure a secure shopping environment.
- Keep all egress points clear of clutter and report any unsafe situations immediately to store management.
- Demonstrate friendliness and professionalism in all customer and colleague interactions, including recognizing fellow associates through company programs.
- Provide excellent customer support by assisting with merchandise, answering questions knowledgeably, and operating the register efficiently.
- Respond immediately to customer service requests and resolve issues courteously, involving store leadership when necessary.
- Conduct cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas throughout the store.
- Ensure professional appearance and compliance with the company dress code at all times.
- Perform daily sizing and recovery tasks to maintain a neat and well-merchandised sales floor according to company standards.
- Process newly received inventory with urgency, merchandising items as per monthly guidelines, and assist customers with product knowledge within departments.
- Understand and support loss prevention measures including awareness programs, shortage tracking, and merchandise protection standards.
- Maintain integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive information, cash, card transactions, and merchandise.
- Follow procedures for mark-out-of-stock items, including identification, processing, and management approval for disposals.
- Adhere to policies concerning cash, check, credit transactions, voids, and offline procedures with accuracy.
- Work with a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and follow all best practice workflows to reduce unnecessary steps.

Qualifications and Physical Demands
- Ability to communicate effectively in a respectful and cooperative manner with customers, associates, and leadership.
- Basic mathematical skills applicable to retail operations.
- Physically able to occasionally push, pull, lift over 25 pounds; regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Capable of spending up to 100% of the work shift standing, walking, and moving throughout the store.
- Proficient in using store equipment including point-of-sale registers, personal digital terminals (PDTs), janitorial tools, rolling racks, and ladders.
- For stockroom shifts, the ability to regularly lift and move over 20 pounds.
