Role Summary
The Dubai Campus Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager leads Continuous Improvement across manufacturing operations by deploying Eaton Business System (EBS) and Eaton CI System (ECIS) methodologies. The role focuses on driving improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth from factory start-up through serial production. This manager facilitates ECIS projects, EBS strategy deployment, operational planning activities, and promotes standardization and capability building across multiple workstreams including MCB, PCBA, Plastic Injection, and Shared Functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the CI strategy aligned with EBS, OPa, ECIS, and business goals for the Dubai Campus.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices including Standard Work, 5S+, Value Stream Mapping, Flow, Pull, SUR, TPM, DAP, and hourly accountability with daily management systems.
- Drive problem solving through A3 structured approaches utilizing root cause analysis and real-time resolution techniques.
- Develop and oversee CI governance including annual plans, ECIS deployment schedules, and kaizen event pipelines.
- Lead and coach CI initiatives such as Needle Mover projects, Rapid Improvement Events, Business Process Improvements, cost reduction, and turnaround projects.
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations to track project benefits focusing on cost effectiveness, product cost reduction, and productivity improvements.
- Use ECIS methods and statistical tools to analyze and enhance manufacturing and business processes for reliability and sustainability.
- Coach leaders, engineers, supervisors, and operators to build a strong culture of continuous improvement.
- Facilitate ECIS training and mentor candidates for ECIS/Six Sigma certification, building site-wide CI knowledge and competencies.
- Support EBS strategy deployment activities including assessments, follow-ups, and aligning with Opportunities for Action.
- Promote standardization and share best practices across campus manufacturing streams and selected EMEA sites.
- Assist with new line, process, and product ramp-up ensuring stable startups and sustained quality performance.
- Track and report CI performance, savings, and maturity through structured management reviews, ensuring accountability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering or related science.
- Minimum 10 years of industrial experience specializing in process improvements through Lean and Six Sigma with hands-on facilitation of related projects.
Required Skills
- Comprehensive expertise in Lean production systems and Six Sigma methodologies with program development capabilities.
- Proven track record in applying Lean and Six Sigma tools successfully in operational manufacturing environments.
- Specialist knowledge in manufacturing processes such as metal stamping, plastics injection molding, systems assembly, or electronics/electrical production is advantageous.
- Understanding of resource and capacity planning and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
- Experience enhancing business processes in non-manufacturing functions such as IT, HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead teams and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Change management experience and skills.
