Drill Bit Repair Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Drill Bit Repair Technician based in Dammam's 2nd Industrial City. The role focuses on repairing and assembling drill bits and Downhole Logging Recorder (DLR) equipment while ensuring adherence to high-quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform repair and assembly of drill bits and DLR tools to meet precise quality standards.
• Execute manual and machine grinding, blasting, inspection, brazing, and hardfacing operations efficiently and safely.
• Ensure all refurbished items conform to required technical and operational standards.
• Handle material movement and bit transfers as necessary.
• Assist the Operations Manager and Supervisors in maintaining smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
• Strictly comply with company’s health, safety, environmental, and quality guidelines.
• Adhere to contractual duties including punctuality.
• Assemble components accurately according to engineering drawings and established procedures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in torch brazing and hardfacing techniques, utilizing oxy/acetylene and propane setups with all necessary safety checks.
• Operate handheld grinding tools and gas torches for surface treatment jobs.
• Inspect parts regularly, report discrepancies, and expertly use measuring devices and inspection methods.
• Manage personal workload effectively to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
• Uphold professionalism and prioritize customer satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and order within the work environment.
• Comply fully with all HSE legislation and internal policies.
• Participate in improving workflows, systems, and operational practices.
• Have thorough knowledge of departmental and company standards, ensuring full compliance in all activities.
• Load and unload materials using forklifts when required.
• Assist other departments and perform additional duties as needed in support of business objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Technical diploma or GED in metal fabrication, or equivalent certified training, or 3-6 years of related experience.
• Competency in TIG welding techniques is essential.
• Experience with thermal processes such as oxy-fuel hardfacing and brazing is preferred.
• Previous experience in welding within light or heavy fabrication environments is advantageous.
• 5-7 years’ preferred experience working within a manufacturing setting.
