Draughtsman Architect

Role Overview

This position involves creating comprehensive architectural drawings such as detailed plans, elevations, sections, layouts, and construction details. The draughtsman will generate shop drawings, working drawings, and as-built documentation tailored to construction project requirements.

Core Responsibilities

• Produce detailed architectural drawings aligned with designs, specifications, site needs, and feedback from consultants and clients.
• Adapt and revise plans according to project demands and onsite changes.
• Coordinate architectural documentation with structural, MEP, and other specialized drawings to maintain consistency.
• Check drawings for precision, including dimensions, levels, annotations, and construction specifics.
• Carry out site visits as needed to validate measurements, conditions, and construction progress.
• Construct as-built drawings reflecting actual site conditions and sanctioned modifications.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, consultants, project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment.
• Incorporate feedback promptly and ensure timely delivery of revised drawings.
• Maintain drawing registers, track revisions, and document control rigorously.
• Ensure compliance with relevant UAE regulations, authorities’ standards, project specifications, and company protocols.
• Provide technical drawing clarifications and support to project teams during construction.
• Assist in preparing drawings required for authority approvals and submissions.
• Deliver accurate drawings within project timelines.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Architecture, Architectural Drafting, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• Total 5–7 years' relevant experience as an architectural draughtsman.
• Within that, 2–4 years must be gained in the UAE construction or contracting sector.
• Solid background in building construction and architectural detailing.
• High proficiency in AutoCAD software.
• Familiarity with Revit/BIM tools is advantageous.
• Adeptness in interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Practical understanding of construction techniques, materials, and architectural details.
• Experience preparing shop and as-built drawings.
• Preferred knowledge of UAE building standards and local authority requirements.
• Strong communication and coordination capabilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong accuracy focus.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively with project and site teams.
• Capacity to perform under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.

Additional Skills and Preferences

• Experience across residential, commercial, villa, or general building construction projects.
• Understanding of UAE authorities such as Dubai Municipality, DDA, Trakhees, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of additional architectural tools like SketchUp or relevant software.
• Experience with site coordination and development of as-built drawings.
• Possession of a valid UAE driver's license is an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

• Monthly salary ranging from AED 4,000 to 6,000, influenced by experience and technical competency.
