About the Role
Join a dynamic and customer-focused team as a Door Technician responsible for installation, service, and repair of commercial and industrial doors and dock equipment. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining and servicing a variety of door systems including sectional doors, rolling doors, fire doors, vehicle restraints, automated entrances, gates, and loading dock equipment. You will occasionally lead a crew or work independently in various weather conditions and industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and service numerous door-related products such as sectional and rolling doors, fire doors, vehicle restraints, impact doors, automated entrances, man doors, gates, and dock levelers.
- Diagnose and repair faulty equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Manage truck inventory and maintain company vehicles responsibly.
- Accurately document work details including job numbers, travel times, and job completion records.
- Engage professionally and courteously with customers, end-users, and contractors.
- Use critical thinking to solve complex site and equipment challenges.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Follow all safety guidelines and policies thoroughly.
- Support company values, vision, and operational goals actively.
- Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working with rolling, high speed, sectional doors, dock levelers, automated entrances, gates, and mega doors preferred; candidates with partial relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
- Skills in welding and electrical work are advantageous.
- Willingness to travel including overnight trips, weekends, and on-call duties.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with effective troubleshooting abilities.
- Capability to handle physically demanding tasks and work at heights.
- Proficient in use of power tools; must provide own hand tools.
- Ability to work independently and provide excellent customer service with clear communication.
- Comfortable adapting to variable and changing work conditions.
- Possess high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass a background check and demonstrate basic math skills.
