Job description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Dispenser to join our pharmacy team within one of our stores. This position plays a vital role in supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective dispensary operations and healthcare services. The role involves interacting with patients to understand their needs, dispensing prescriptions accurately, and advising on medicinal use to assist patients in making informed health decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescriptions, including ordering, labeling, endorsing, and managing prescription collections.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy team members to aid in delivering pharmacy services efficiently.
  • Provide patients with medicine-related advice, referring complex queries to the pharmacist.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) carefully to maintain safe and legal dispensing practices.
  • Stay updated with new processes and technologies to enhance operational efficiency and patient safety.
  • Assist patients in managing their repeat prescriptions and medication adherence to minimize waste.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Completion of Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 or an equivalent certification, or progress in an MPharm degree with at least one academic year completed.
  • Valid UK right to work documentation; the position is not open for Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship.
  • Experience in community pharmacy roles is advantageous but not mandatory.
