Job description
Overview
Join a community-focused, locally owned pharmacy committed to delivering health, beauty, and convenience services with the customer at the forefront of all activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the pharmacy during your shift while delivering professional pharmaceutical services.
- Engage with customers and health care providers to provide expert consultation and comprehensive medication counselling.
- Ensure full compliance with all federal and provincial laws, regulatory standards, and privacy requirements, maintaining customer confidentiality and consent at all times.
- Dispense medications accurately and safely, practicing to the full extent of your professional scope including expanded services when applicable.
- Maintain clear identification as a pharmacist to the public and actively communicate with the broader healthcare team to support patient care.
- Keep detailed and compliant records per legislative and policy requirements.
- Oversee dispensary workflow and inventory management, including access control, daily review of workflow queues, monitoring 'will call' bins, assessing stock for expirations, and managing orders with wholesalers.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance regarding controlled substances, fulfilling all reporting obligations to Health Canada and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain a professional pharmacy environment including workstations, counselling areas, and public spaces.
- Participate in financial reporting and respond promptly to internal store communications.
- Document any medication, privacy, or staff incidents through formal incident reporting procedures.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Demonstrated ability to think independently and make sound decisions when handling pharmacy issues or challenges.
- Experience in coordinating, delegating tasks, and mentoring pharmacy team members.
- Proven track record of driving business development and supporting corporate initiatives through leadership by example.
- Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service with strong interpersonal and professional skills.
- Effective problem-solving capabilities with experience creating and implementing corrective action plans.
- Proficient computer skills with knowledge of pharmacy management systems considered an asset.
- Strict adherence to health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Willingness to complete mandatory training and pursue continuing education opportunities.

Compensation
The pay range for this role is $55 to $65 per hour. Actual pay may vary based on candidate experience, qualifications, and location.
