About the Role
Located at 211 Main St, Unit 100, Whitehorse, Yukon, the Front Store Manager (FSM) oversees all aspects of the Front Store operations at Shoppers Drug Mart, excluding the Pharmacy. This role is vital for maintaining strong customer service standards, managing store processes, and ensuring financial targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain store standards to enhance customer experience, drive traffic, and improve profitability.
- Collaborate with management team to ensure compliance with store standards, including backroom areas.
- Manage labor scheduling effectively using Workforce Management tools to optimize productivity.
- Ensure staffing levels are sufficient for smooth business operations.
- Adhere to Human Resources standards including hiring (excluding Pharmacy), wage administration, staff performance evaluation, and coaching.
- Foster a positive team culture driven by core values, encourage employee engagement, and lead by example.
- Analyze financial reports to identify trends and address discrepancies, meeting quarterly and annual targets.
- Set departmental goals to motivate staff and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years retail management experience with proven leadership abilities.
- Strong judgement and decision-making skills especially related to inventory and expense control.
- Effective planning, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize in a fast-changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to collaborate with management and build internal and external relationships.
