Job description

About the Role

Join a community pharmacy team as a Dispenser, where you will play an essential role in supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to deliver safe and efficient pharmacy and health services. Working primarily in-store, you will engage with patients by listening attentively to their healthcare needs, dispensing prescriptions, and ensuring the correct and lawful sale of medicines. Your healthcare knowledge will empower you to provide advice that helps patients make informed health decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescriptions, ensuring safe medication supply including ordering, labeling, endorsing, and prescription collection.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals within the store to manage and deliver pharmacy services effectively.
  • Offer care and medicine-related advice to patients, referring complex queries to the pharmacist as required.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain safety and legality in dispensing.
  • Stay informed on new in-store innovations and comply with operational guidelines.
  • Assist patients in managing their prescriptions reliably, promoting adherence and minimizing medicine waste.
  • Work with updated technologies and systems that enhance dispensing workflows and allow more patient-focused time.

Qualifications & Eligibility

  • Must have completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 or its equivalent, or be actively studying with completion of the first year of an MPharm degree.
  • Applicants must hold a current and valid UK right to work; sponsorship for Skilled Worker Visa is not available for this role.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience in community pharmacy is advantageous but not mandatory.

Working Conditions & Location

This position is based in-store within the UK; remote applications or candidates outside the UK without proper UK qualifications and right to work will not be considered.
