Position Overview
As a Dishwasher, your key duties include transporting and cleaning cooking utensils and serving ware, ensuring cooks, bus staff, and servers have the necessary equipment to offer a quality dining experience for guests. Additionally, maintaining a clean physical workspace is an essential component of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort soiled dishes, ensuring proper processing through dish or pot washing machines.
- Thoroughly clean all service ware and promptly restock designated storage areas.
- Maintain dishwashing equipment by cleaning and replenishing water in accordance with hotel standards.
- Clean cooking equipment such as kettles, tilt skillets, pots, and pans to support kitchen operations.
- Carry out routine cleaning tasks using approved hotel cleaning products to meet health requirements.
- Ensure floors are clean and dry to prevent accidents.
- Separate linens from other waste materials.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
- Use appropriate protective gear during tasks.
- Report any hazardous conditions, accidents, or property damage to management immediately.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance as defined by the employee handbook.
- Assist kitchen team members and perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a valid Food Handler Card.
- Understanding of service ware maintenance to enhance the guest experience.
- Proficiency in operating commercial dishwashing machines aligned with hotel and health department standards.
- Ability to comprehend and apply instructions for safe use of cleaning products and procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity to handle kitchen tools including knives, spatulas, tongs, and slicers.
- Capability to push or pull service carts and move goods weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Regular activities include bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, and smiling.
