Role Overview: Dishwasher (Kitchen Team Member)
As a dishwasher at HomeGrown, your primary mission is to support the entire restaurant by ensuring all dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and glasses are clean, sanitized, and readily available to facilitate smooth service. This is a vital, fast-paced role requiring great efficiency and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly scrap, scrub, wash, spray, and sanitize all kitchenware including pots, pans, dishes, glasses, and utensils, accounting for about 70% of daily tasks.
- Carry out assigned food prep duties by following recipes exactly (approximately 5%).
- Prepare and organize your workstation (5%).
- Adhere strictly to sanitary and safe food handling practices (5%).
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas before, during, and after shifts (5%).
- Complete scheduled daily and weekly cleaning projects (5%).
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries (5%).
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess a positive mindset with enthusiasm for learning and development.
- Physical capability to place plates, utensils, pans, and cases on shelves both high and low.
- Basic reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow recipes precisely.
- Capacity to work efficiently, safely, and accurately, for up to 10 hours per day.
- Strong attention to detail to maintain high cleanliness and quality standards.
- Competence to perform well and communicate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Willingness to support maintenance, prep cooking, and other kitchen stations as needed.
- Skillful handling of knives, slicing devices, and other food prep tools.
- Physical stamina to remain mobile throughout shifts and lift cases weighing up to 50 pounds multiple times daily.
- Ability to respond promptly to emergency situations to ensure safety.
Physical Demands
This position involves continuous movement around the restaurant, communication with guests, lifting items up to five pounds regularly, occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds, and bending or stooping. Clear vision is necessary to assess restaurant cleanliness and operate touchscreens. Reasonable accommodations can be arranged for candidates with disabilities.
