At Domino's, the Dishwasher role involves dedicated team members who thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The primary responsibility is to collect and wash soiled dishes, ensuring they are dried and stored properly. Additionally, dishwashers assist with restocking kitchen supplies, unloading deliveries, cleaning kitchen appliances, maintaining cleanliness of work areas including the lobby, and performing other supportive tasks as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect all used prep tubs, pans, utensils, and cookware from the kitchen, thoroughly wash and store them dry.
- Prepare kitchen and dining areas for upcoming shifts by cleaning and restocking cooking stations.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen appliances such as ovens, makeline stations, and cut tables.
- Keep the dishwashing area orderly and clean.
- Assist in unloading deliveries and organize storage.
- Sweep and mop floors regularly, especially after spills.
- Dispose of trash properly and clean trash receptacles.
- Support other restaurant staff with various tasks as necessary.
- Report any kitchen accidents or breaches of food safety regulations promptly.
- Ensure dining areas are ready at opening, during operation, and closing times.
- Set up kitchen lines ahead of busy periods and reset for the next day after closing.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimal prior work experience required; training provided.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Physical ability to stand or walk for 8 to 10 hours per shift and lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
- A sense of pride in one’s work and commitment to quality.
- Compliance with food safety standards is mandatory.
- Possession of a Texas Certified Food Handlers Certificate is required.
Education and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent is appreciated but not mandatory. Candidates receive necessary training on computer systems, cleaning chemicals, and washing procedures. Essential attributes include effective communication skills and a positive attitude.
Work Environment
The role involves handling numerous kitchen items safely, including sharp objects. The workspace is warm, busy, and sometimes noisy, with wet surfaces in the dishwashing area creating slip risks. The restaurant contains conveyor ovens, warming shelves, and mobile carts posing potential injury hazards.
