Role Overview and Responsibilities
As a Dishwasher and General Utility team member, you will uphold kitchen cleanliness and support food preparation duties. Key tasks include maintaining sanitation of kitchen areas, washing dishes and equipment, managing waste disposal, and assisting across the kitchen departments through cross-training.
- Scrape and pre-rinse dishes before placing them in the dishwasher (approximately 50% of work time).
- Hand or machine wash pots, pans, and trays (around 15%).
- Perform assigned food prep tasks (about 10%).
- Transport trash and garbage to dumpster (near 10%).
- Clean surfaces, including tables, walls, refrigeration and cooking equipment, as well as floors (approximately 5%).
- Maintain and clean garbage cans and trash receptacles (5%).
- Assemble, maintain, and disassemble the dishwashing machine (5%).
Qualifications and Physical Demands
- Exhibit a caring mindset with enthusiasm for growth and learning.
- Maintain a positive attitude throughout work activities.
- Regularly move cases weighing up to 50 pounds, up to 20 times daily.
- Ability to store items on both high and low shelves.
- Work environment includes 90% indoors and 10% outdoors, often hot and damp conditions.
- React appropriately in emergencies to ensure personal and others' safety.
Physical requirements include navigating the restaurant, communicating with guests, lifting/moving items up to 25 pounds occasionally, bending and stooping, and having sufficient vision to assess cleanliness and operate touchscreen equipment. Reasonable accommodations are provided for disabilities.
