Role Overview
We are seeking a Director of Retail Sales for the UK to spearhead monetization efforts in one of the largest EMEA markets. Reporting directly to the UK Managing Director, this role involves leading Pinterest's retail business growth by engaging closely with cross-functional teams and managing senior sales professionals. This position is also a key member of the UK Senior Leadership Team, serving as Pinterest's voice within the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft and implement sales strategies for the UK retail sector.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify and pursue growth opportunities.
- Maintain and forge strong partnerships with executive and operational teams and industry associations.
- Negotiate and finalize strategic retail partnerships, scaling revenue streams.
- Drive excellence in sales operations by monitoring key metrics aligned with business plans.
- Lead, develop, and motivate a diverse senior sales team fostering an inclusive and positive culture.
- Collaborate with Sales Operations and Measurement teams to analyze client data, extract insights, and propagate best practices.
- Contribute to the UK Senior Leadership Team through cross-vertical collaboration.
- Promote AI-driven tools and insights to enhance sales effectiveness, client strategies, and team productivity.
- Strengthen strategic relationships with media agencies to unlock growth opportunities and influence planning.
- Serve as an external representative championing Pinterest’s value proposition within the UK.
Candidate Profile
- 15+ years in digital media, with at least 7 years in leadership roles.
- Proven experience leading sales or marketing teams effectively and collaboratively.
- Adept at engaging and influencing executive business and marketing leaders in client organizations.
- Recognized industry figure with a well-established retail network.
- In-depth knowledge of performance data and measurement, leveraging trends to craft successful strategies.
- Experienced in operational excellence via implementing new KPIs, processes, and systems.
- Insightful understanding of AI's impact on digital advertising and retail marketing, with ability to translate into business solutions.
- Ability to communicate Pinterest’s role in the marketing funnel with emphasis on measurable business outcomes and unique visual search capabilities.
- Strong expertise in go-to-market strategies combined with operational discipline to execute sales priorities.
- Dynamic leadership qualities that inspire urgency, innovation, and foster transformational thinking to enhance team performance and culture.
- Collaborative mindset with experience aligning sales with product and engineering teams, influencing technology choices.
- Excellent influencing, presentation, and communication skills to translate data and product insights into client value.
- Demonstrated proficiency thriving in high-growth environments and new business incubation.
- Comprehensive understanding of digital measurement frameworks such as MTA and MMM to optimize campaign effectiveness.
- Experience leading or utilizing AI-powered tools to accelerate forecasting, client planning, and workflow efficiency is highly advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marketing, Business, Advertising or related fields.
- Genuine enthusiasm for Pinterest and its mission.
