About the Role
A fast-growing PropTech company is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their commercial team in a fully new-business role. This position focuses on proactively sourcing new clients, particularly estate agencies, by engaging with potential customers through calls, face-to-face meetings, and networking. The company offers technology solutions to letting agents to navigate complex property compliance and regulatory challenges, serving well-known estate agencies across the UK, now aiming to expand among small and medium-sized agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the complete new-business sales journey, starting from identifying prospects to closing deals.
- Develop and maintain your own prospective client pipeline alongside leads generated from marketing and partnerships.
- Conduct proactive cold calling and outreach to agency businesses to generate sales opportunities.
- Host discovery calls and demonstrate the product to potential customers.
- Negotiate terms and close new contracts successfully.
- Participate in industry events and actively network within the estate agency sector.
- Utilize LinkedIn to engage potential clients and build industry visibility.
- Execute field sales activities with visits to estate agency offices and conduct remote prospecting efforts.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to support campaigns around new property licensing schemes.
- Research target businesses to identify key decision-makers for engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and pipeline data using HubSpot CRM.
- Provide market intelligence and customer insights to inform internal strategy.
- Innovate new methods for pipeline generation and business development.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of three years’ experience in B2B SaaS, PropTech, or technology-driven sales roles focused on new business acquisition.
- Demonstrated capability in consistently achieving sales targets and managing full sales cycles from prospecting to closing.
- Comfortable with cold calling and creating new opportunities without relying on inbound leads or pre-existing accounts.
- Proficient in conducting product demos and engaging with senior decision-makers.
- Experience using HubSpot or similar CRM platforms for pipeline and forecast management.
- Strong commercial discipline and forecasting skills.
- Comfortable adopting modern technologies and AI tools to enhance the sales process.
- Willingness to perform field sales work with regular face-to-face client interactions.
- Knowledge or experience in estate agency, PropTech, lettings, or related property sectors is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to understand complex offerings and communicate them clearly and effectively.
Work Environment and Expectations
The company employs a hybrid work model with an expectation of approximately two days per week in London, either at the office or visiting clients. Additional travel for business beyond this will be reimbursed. The role requires initiative, comfort with autonomy, and a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
Targets and Compensation
- Primary goals focus on generating new recurring revenue, license application income, opportunity creation, conversion rates, self-generated pipelines, and field sales activity.
- Benchmarking includes closing roughly eight new deals monthly.
- Comprehensive compensation package includes a base salary of £55,000 and an uncapped OTE of £90,000.
- Commission is 10% of the first-year Annual Contract Value (ACV) on new sales, paid after a three-month period.
- Potential exists to exceed the OTE with strong performance.
