Digital Infrastructure & Cloud Lead

Role Overview

The Digital Infrastructure & Cloud Lead will be responsible for delivering and managing the cloud and infrastructure platforms of Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS) through direct hands-on provisioning, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), automation, and observability. The goal is to maintain environments that are stable, secure, and reproducible, enabling dependable application delivery and resilient operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage cloud and on-premises infrastructure with approved patterns and IaC templates, provisioning necessary resources, networking, storage, and platform services.
• Deploy and validate development, testing, staging, and production environments using repeatable pipelines to ensure environment consistency and reproducibility.
• Develop and update IaC modules, automation scripts, and deployment pipelines to minimize manual processes, promote repeatability, and facilitate self-service provisioning.
• Create and sustain automated operational playbooks such as configuration drift remediation, automated patching, and self-healing to reduce operational toil and accelerate recovery.
• Implement observability solutions including metrics, logs, and traces; build monitoring dashboards with alerts; tune thresholds to allow proactive problem detection and swift troubleshooting.
• Conduct performance analysis and tuning for compute, storage, and network resources; contribute to capacity planning and ensure optimal resource sizing.
• Enforce platform security by applying hardening, patching, backup, and recovery processes; maintain configuration baselines and remediation measures to meet security compliance.
• Support disaster recovery exercises, verify backups, and implement resilient deployment strategies such as multi-availability zone and failover configurations.
• Act as an escalation point for complex incidents by performing triage, root cause analysis, applying fixes or workarounds, and completing closure with documented root cause analysis.
• Collaborate closely with application teams, integration owners, and external vendors to address cross-stack issues and minimize recurrence.
• Provide regular operational updates to the section head covering deployments, incidents, risks, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain comprehensive runbooks, baselines, deployment playbooks, and change documentation; contribute to knowledge base and onboarding materials.
• Ensure all daily operations comply with organizational policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes for cost efficiency and productivity, considering industry best practices and evolving business needs.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in infrastructure and cloud-related roles or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Preferred professional certifications such as Cisco CCNP, VMware VCP-DCV, ITIL, CompTIA Network+, Security+, A+, and Fortinet NSE.
