Die Cutter Second Helper

Position Overview

The Die Cutter Second Helper supports the main Operator on a Rotary Die Cutter machine that processes corrugated sheets by cutting, printing, and scoring them with rotary cutting dies. This role demands keen attention to detail as the helper serves as the final quality checkpoint before the product advances to the Folder Gluer stage.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the machine according to Factory Job Ticket specifics.
• Set up the load former and ensure bottom sheets are ready at the machine.
• Handle cutting dies: ensure availability during operation and proper storage afterward.
• Ensure that ink supplies meet correct levels and verify ink viscosity.
• Support the operator with the bottom sheet inserter and maintain product quality monitoring.
• Print load tags for respective orders.
• Perform cleaning and housekeeping duties between jobs and at shift end to maintain safety and orderliness.
• Possess the flexibility to work over 40 hours weekly when business demands.
• Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by management.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Work in a fast-paced environment that requires adapting to ongoing changes involving the company, customers, and colleagues.
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, and usage of fine motor skills.
• Regular climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Lift weights regularly up to 20 lbs, frequently 20-35 lbs, occasionally more than 35 lbs, and heavier loads over 50 lbs with team or mechanical help.
• Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Regular exposure to moving machine parts and loud workplace noise.

Systems Experience

• Proficiency with Kiwi ERP system.
• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now platform.

Qualifications and Shift Details

• Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a GED or high school diploma equivalent.
• Work schedule is 3rd shift, Sunday night through Friday morning, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
