Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain automation solutions using scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Develop reusable tools and workflows to reduce manual work, increase consistency, and speed up delivery.
• Design, build, and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code practices with Terraform.
• Engineer and automate AWS cloud infrastructure through repeatable, version-controlled methods.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
• Manage source code and branching strategies with Git, including peer reviews and controlled deployments.
• Deploy containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, or similar orchestration platforms.
• Implement observability across applications, infrastructure, and pipelines with metrics, logs, and distributed tracing.
• Develop reusable instrumentation patterns with OpenTelemetry SDKs, auto-instrumentation, and collectors.
• Integrate automated testing, quality gates, artifact management, and deployment controls within delivery pipelines.
• Embed security features such as secrets management and policy checks into cloud and CI/CD workflows.
• Create reusable templates, reference patterns, and automation frameworks to enhance developer experience and engineering productivity.
• Produce technical documentation, engineering guidelines, and implementation strategies for DevOps and observability capabilities.
• Advocate for DevOps, DevSecOps, observability, automation-first thinking, and secure engineering practices.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of five years of experience in DevOps, cloud, or platform engineering, supported by a degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong practical skills in architecting cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS.
• Proficient knowledge of Linux and scripting in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.
• Experience designing and implementing Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
• Well-versed in Git version control with collaboration practices including branching and peer reviews.
• Expertise building CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or comparable tools.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container-based deployment models.
• Understanding of observability principles with practical experience in metrics, logging, and tracing cloud platforms and delivery workflows.
• Experience applying OpenTelemetry instrumentation via SDKs, auto-instrumentation, and collectors.
• Implementing automated testing, artifact management, quality gates, and deployment approval processes in pipelines.
• Knowledgeable about cloud and pipeline security, including identity/access management and secrets management.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence.

Additional Preferred Skills

• AWS certifications.
• Experience in platform engineering, developer enablement, or self-service delivery models.
• Working experience with GitLab, configuration management, or immutable infrastructure.
• Familiarity with observability platforms and OpenTelemetry-compatible backends.
• Knowledge of software supply-chain security, policy-as-code, and automated compliance.
• Experience in regulated, highly governed, or large enterprise environments.
• Designing reusable engineering standards, templates, and automation frameworks.
