About the Role and Company
Larian Studios, acclaimed for award-winning role-playing games such as Baldur's Gate 3 and Divinity: Original Sin 2, is seeking a DevOps Build Engineer to join their team. This role contributes directly to the creation of high-quality games that meet the rigorous standards expected by their fanbase.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust and scalable build pipelines tailored for multiple platforms.
- Continuously monitor and enhance automated build processes and Continuous Integration (CI) systems.
- Collaborate with IT departments to expand and manage build server infrastructure effectively.
- Create and maintain up-to-date documentation related to build and release procedures.
- Assist the release manager in managing patch releases efficiently.
- Act as a reliable resource for team members requiring assistance with build-related tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years professional experience in the industry.
- Strong practical expertise with Jenkins and managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Ruby, Groovy, or Python.
- Experience with automation of workflows using shell, bash, or command scripts on Linux and/or Windows environments.
- Working knowledge of version control systems including Git, Perforce, or SVN.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to collaborate in a team setting and a willingness to take ownership of assigned work.
- A mindset enthusiastic about experimenting, iterating, and refining game features.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a sound understanding of software design principles.
Desirable Skills
- Experience using configuration management tools like Ansible.
- Knowledge of automating C#/C++ build processes (e.g., MSBuild, CMake).
- Exposure to full-stack software development.
- Previous experience working within the gaming industry.
