About Larian Studios

As the studio embarks on new projects, it seeks an Associate Lead Cinematic Animator to contribute to maintaining its high standards and engaging fan base.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Lead Cinematic Animators to develop, enhance, and uphold the studio's cinematic animation style consistent with the Animation Director and Head of Animation's vision.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to a team of talented cinematic animators based in Dublin, fostering growth and high performance.
  • Ensure cinematic animations achieve desired quality and visual goals by delivering precise, actionable feedback and creatively solving challenges.
  • Participate in technical research initiatives to advance cinematic features and workflows.
  • Work closely with production teams and leadership to meet production schedules and plans.
  • Communicate effectively with related teams to refine and enhance studio pipelines.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of experience in cinematic animation.
  • At least two years serving as a team lead or manager.
  • Proficient in both Motion Capture (MoCap) and Keyframe Animation techniques.
  • Experience working within game engines, with a strong grasp of cinematic systems.
  • Expertise in Autodesk Maya.
  • Background in technical feature development related to cinematic animation.
  • Strong skills in visual storytelling, including cinematography, staging, and acting principles.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Flow.
  • This is a full-time position requiring onsite presence in the Dublin office to foster collaboration and creativity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience directing MoCap performances.
  • Proficiency in MEL and Python scripting.
  • Experience collaborating with external outsourcing teams.
  • Familiarity with gameplay animation systems.
  • Background as a Cinematic Artist, including scene work, layout, camera operation, and narrative development.
