Developer Advocate

Position Overview

This role, based in the United Arab Emirates, seeks a Developer Advocate who will engage with developer communities by leveraging their expertise in web technologies and APIs. The role emphasizes public speaking, content development, and fostering relationships to support developer needs. Duties include representing the organization at numerous technical events, creating educational resources, and collaborating closely with internal teams to enhance tools and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate and represent the organization at developer-focused gatherings such as conferences, meetups, webinars, panels, podcasts, and industry forums.
• Scout and evaluate opportunities for speaking engagements, sponsorships, and partnerships aligned with strategic objectives.
• Deliver engaging technical presentations, workshops, demos, and panel discussions tailored for developer audiences.
• Develop and nurture relationships with developers, community influencers, event organizers, and technology partners.
• Expand and support a network of external advocates versed in web data, APIs, and developer-centric technologies.
• Maintain ongoing engagement with developers through social media, forums, events, and open-source communities.
• Produce diverse technical content including tutorials, videos, articles, presentations, demos, and code samples to simplify adoption of available tools.
• Showcase practical methods to address challenges in web scraping, data extraction, and API integration.
• Contribute technical articles for company and external publications.
• Participate in and enhance developer and open-source communities.
• Advocate for developer perspectives within marketing and organizational strategy to ensure community needs are addressed.
• Identify and implement improvements to developer documentation.
• Create and publish content that is relevant and helpful to technical audiences on social platforms.
• Investigate new developer workflows, including applications of large language models and AI agents, demonstrating supporting web data solutions.
• Analyze and report on the effectiveness of events, partnerships, content, and community efforts to inform future initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of three years’ experience in developer advocacy, developer relations, community engagement, or a closely related technical role.
• Proven active presence and following within developer or technical communities.
• Strong knowledge of web technologies, API usage, web scraping, and data extraction techniques.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• A sincere interest in technologies related to web data extraction.
• Passion for assisting developers and technical users in problem-solving and adopting new technologies.
• Excellent written and oral communication capabilities, backed by experience presenting technical content publicly.
• Track record in content creation, social media engagement, blogging, and developer community interaction.
• Experience in community building and event hosting considered advantageous.
• Highly self-driven with robust prioritization and organizational skills.
• Able to work effectively both independently and as a member of a distributed team.
• Strong interpersonal skills enabling clear communication of technical ideas to diverse audiences.
• Familiarity with Scrapy, headless browsers, or web scraping platforms is a bonus but not mandatory.
