Demi Chef de Partie

Role Overview

The Demi Chef de Partie is tasked with preparing ingredients for meals, such as portioning, chopping, and storing various food items. Responsibilities include washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, accurately weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, and preparing and cooking meals following established recipes, presentation, and quality standards.

Primary Duties

• Prepare cold dishes and utilize kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Conduct tests on food to ensure proper cooking completion and consistently monitor food quality during preparation.
• Organize and clean the workstation before and after shifts, including washing and sanitizing kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Ensure the correct temperature of appliances and food items is maintained throughout preparation.
• Serve food in appropriate portions using suitable receptacles.
• Follow all company safety, security protocols, and hygiene standards, reporting any hazards or issues to management promptly.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Communicate professionally and cultivate positive working relationships with team members to achieve shared objectives.
• Physically, the role requires standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, bending, twisting, lifting or moving objects up to 25 pounds independently.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• A minimum of one year of relevant culinary work experience.
• No supervisory background required.
