Job description
Position Overview
The Demi Chef de Partie will be primarily responsible for preparing special meals and substitute dishes, managing cooking equipment temperatures, and ensuring all food preparation meets quality, presentation, and portion standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures to achieve optimal cooking results.
- Thaw food items by transferring from freezer to refrigerator according to daily needs.
- Maintain food logs accurately to track production and usage.
- Monitor quality and quantity of dishes prepared, ensuring consistency in presentation and taste.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and food & beverage teams regarding menu specials, out-of-stock items, and assistance requirements during peak hours.
- Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes and quality criteria, including cold food preparations.
- Collaborate with management to support hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, and coaching of kitchen staff.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, safety and security procedures; report maintenance issues and incidents promptly.
- Maintain professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of company information.
- Engage positively with team members to achieve shared goals and respond appropriately to concerns.
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, bending, lifting objects up to 25 pounds, and other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Technical, trade, or vocational school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in culinary roles.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No specific licenses or certifications mandated.
