Delivery Driver

Overview

Elgas Limited is seeking a reliable and diligent Delivery Driver to become an integral part of our dynamic team based in Christchurch, New Zealand. This role requires experience with Class 2 vehicles and a clean criminal background to safely deliver and manage LPG gas cylinders to residential and commercial customers in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Monday to Friday from approximately 6:30 AM to no later than 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturday work as needed.
• Transport and deliver LPG gas cylinders across the region ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
• Engage directly with customers, addressing questions and providing assistance as required.
• Safely handle dangerous goods, adhering strictly to health and safety protocols.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a clean Class 2 driving license with a minimum of two years' experience operating Class 2 vehicles.
• Competent in driving manual transmission vehicles and experienced in delivery roles.
• Physically capable of lifting heavy items during deliveries.
• Holds or is willing to obtain Dangerous Goods license and LPG filling training.
• Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and a strong customer service orientation.
• Familiarity with the local area regionally.
• Proficient with handheld computer delivery devices.
• Exhibits proactive responsibility and commitment to health and safety standards.
• Successful clearance of background checks including criminal, ACC history, medical, and drug & alcohol screening.
• A collaborative team player with a positive mindset and the flexibility to meet operational needs.
