About the Role

Join Linde New Zealand Ltd as a Driver Trainer based in Hamilton, Waikato. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in cultivating outstanding drivers by instilling a culture centered on safety and compliance with New Zealand transport regulations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide training and mentorship to drivers, ensuring adherence to transport and safety standards.
  • Lead pre-employment driving assessments, new driver orientation, and annual refresher trainings.
  • Deliver training and assessments following incidents and support performance improvement initiatives.
  • Coach drivers on safe speed management, fatigue awareness, appropriate camera usage, driving techniques, and managing EROAD star ratings.
  • Execute audits of driver logbooks, fatigue management policies, customer sites, and vehicle conditions.
  • Oversee training session logistics, record maintenance, and organization of external training opportunities.
  • Identify and recommend drivers for promotion; provide expert guidance during critical incident investigations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in driver training or leadership within the gases industry is preferred.
  • Hold a Class 2 to 5 driving license including a Dangerous Goods endorsement.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance standards, particularly NZTA fatigue management regulations.
  • Proficient in coaching and mentoring to enhance driver performance.
  • Expertise in conducting audits and validation checks for regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills suited for effective training delivery.
  • Ability to analyze driving data to detect risky behaviours.
