Deli Bakery Team Associate

Position Overview

The role of Deli Bakery Team Associate involves delivering outstanding customer service aligned with Walmart's core beliefs and values. The associate is responsible for maintaining and organizing the Bakery and/or Deli sections while assisting in stocking and sales activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and zone the department ensuring shelves, tables, and storage areas are tidy and products are correctly placed.
• Manage inventory by rotating stock and removing expired items.
• Ensure proper labeling and pricing of merchandise for sale.
• Comply with food safety and quality standards including cold chain management, thermometer calibration, temperature logging, food handling procedures, product rotation, and awareness of sell-by and expiration dates.
• Process orders for deli merchandise and prepare hot food products as needed while offering customer assistance.
• Use utensils to prepare deli items, operate rotisserie ovens for chicken preparation, and replenish prepared side dishes for display.
• Prepare bakery products such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls following precise thawing and baking instructions to maintain quality and appearance.
• Follow established protocols for ordering, clearance, marking up and down prices, and labeling.

Compensation

The starting hourly pay rate for this position is $16.35.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
