Position Summary

CFD Research seeks a Deburr Technician responsible for deburring and polishing aerospace-grade prototype machine components to support technology development programs at its Hollywood Engineering Test Center. This new role collaborates with engineers and technicians on precision finishing tasks, ensuring high fidelity and quality in manufactured parts.

Key Responsibilities and Environment

The role involves working within a machine shop setting, interpreting machine setup sheets, tooling lists, and related documents, and utilizing various manufacturing tools. The candidate will engage with diverse materials including plastics, aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and nickel alloys.

Minimum Qualifications

• US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance eligibility
• High school diploma
• At least 4 years of experience in deburring and polishing environments
• Proficiency using common manufacturing tools and equipment
• Experience handling multiple material types as stated

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of AS9100 quality processes
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience with ERP systems, specifically Cetec
• Background in aerospace hardware manufacturing
• Collaborative experience working with machinists to enhance manufacturing processes

Work Location

The position operates onsite at Hollywood, Alabama Engineering Test Center, near the corporate headquarters in Huntsville, AL.
