About the Role
We are looking to hire an entry-level, data-focused scientist to join our semiconductor engineering team. This opportunity is ideal for fresh graduates eager to leverage data science techniques to address challenges related to product innovation, test optimization, quality control, and yield enhancement. The role involves close collaboration with Product, Test, Quality, and Yield Engineering teams to analyze extensive manufacturing and test datasets, build predictive analytics models, and generate actionable insights that improve processes and product reliability. You will contribute to state-of-the-art semiconductor technologies through advanced analytics and AI implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine data from wafer sort, final testing, and inline process stages for trend analysis, anomaly detection, and root cause identification.
- Design and deploy statistical and machine learning models aimed at predicting yield, identifying outliers, and enhancing test coverage.
- Create dashboards and data visualizations to track essential metrics throughout product lifecycle and testing phases.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering groups to convert data findings into practical enhancements.
- Automate reporting and data pipeline processes to facilitate ongoing improvements.
- Assist in quality-related investigations using data mining and correlation methodologies.
- Develop innovative AI and machine learning approaches for addressing unique challenges.
- Leverage cloud computing resources, including CPUs and GPUs, for processing large datasets.
- Engage in professional development through training, mentorship, and guidance opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or related areas.
- Solid grounding in statistics, data analytics, and machine learning principles.
- Skilled in Python or R programming, with familiarity in popular libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and matplotlib.
- Experience with SQL and managing large-scale databases.
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing or testing processes is advantageous.
- Experience using data visualization software like Tableau, Power BI, or Plotly is beneficial.
- Strong ability to interpret complex data and clearly communicate insights to engineering stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and cooperative work ethic.
- Internship or project experience related to manufacturing, electronics, or data engineering is a plus.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Understanding of generative AI concepts and applications.
- Familiarity with large language models and integrating them into data processing workflows.
- Exposure to cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.) and big data frameworks.
