Global Business Services Overview

Global Business Services provides Technology and Operations capabilities to various Bank of America business lines through a globally integrated model, emphasizing execution excellence, risk management, resiliency, and innovation. In India, operations run under BA Continuum India Private Limited.

Role Summary

The Data Analytics Strategy platform and associated teams design and maintain data strategies and platforms supporting functions such as SDP, DataBank, and Event Hub. This mid-level Data Engineer role focuses on the CSWT Graph Data Platform and SDP, including building a Tiger Graph-based RAG solution for AI applications in consumer services, fraud detection, and AML tracking.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage actively in software development and maintenance tasks within big data ecosystems.
• Maintain system stability, optimize performance, and ensure reliability of Hadoop and related technologies.
• Oversee daily batch processes and troubleshoot failures promptly.
• Collaborate with CIO leads to execute development assignments and deliver technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing cycles, deployments, and upgrades of system functionalities.
• Lead team brainstorming sessions for query optimization, root cause analyses, and system improvement initiatives.
• Develop complex technical components adhering to standards and best practices.
• Prioritize and resolve production issues; escalate as necessary.
• Drive continuous process improvements and automation of regular workflows.
• Monitor overall system health, performance metrics, and security.
• Support developers with query tuning, schema design refinements, and performance optimization.
• Adopt Agile methodologies and operate independently within sprint cycles.
• Ensure technical documentation is current and compliant with data governance policies.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in developing with Graph Databases such as TigerGraph or Neo4j.
• Administration experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of data architecture principles and Big Data platforms.
• Ability to work collaboratively with product teams, analysts, and data scientists on data-driven solutions.
• Accountability for system availability, stability, scalability, security, and recovery.
• Effective communication skills with internal teams and stakeholders.
• Hands-on programming skills in Java or Python alongside Spark/Scala and Spark-SQL.
• Experience using big data tools such as Hive, Impala, PySpark, Autosys, and Unix shell scripting.

Preferred Skills

• Experience creating end-to-end analytics platforms integrating Graph DB and big data technologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation implemented via Atlassian tools.
• Expertise in designing and maintaining frameworks on Tiger Graph or Neo4J platforms.
• Exposure to graph-based workflows and analytics.
• Familiarity with metadata management, data lineage, and data governance principles.

Education & Experience

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (BE/BTech) or MCA with 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in related technologies.

Work Schedule and Location

The position requires working hours from 11 AM to 8 PM and is based at the CHN/GIFT site in Zone 1, Bong County, Liberia.
