Data Engineer

Overview

A prominent quantitative trading firm based in Singapore is seeking a Data Engineer to join their local team. This position involves working closely with trading teams to build and maintain infrastructure for security and reference data across various financial instruments including equities, derivatives, foreign exchange, fixed income, and digital assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, develop, and support security and reference data platforms covering multiple asset classes.
• Manage full lifecycle responsibilities such as development, testing, release management, and production support.
• Diagnose and resolve data and production-related issues under a live trading environment.
• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) both technically and functionally for security and reference data.
• Liaise directly with traders and other technology personnel to comprehend requirements and implement practical solutions.
• Combine hands-on software engineering with ownership of data and operational problem-solving.

Candidate Profile

• Proficient in Python programming, SQL, and Unix/Linux environments.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience working with security and reference data specifically within a trading setting.
• Good knowledge of financial market structure and trading processes covering one or multiple asset types.
• Ability to take comprehensive ownership of both applications and associated data.
• Strong communication skills facilitating direct interaction with trading stakeholders and technical teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills comfortable with fast-paced, highly technical challenges.
