About the Role

Our client, a prominent organization in the Asia-Pacific region, is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join their team in Singapore. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and data infrastructure to support diverse organizational analytics and reporting needs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and manage production-level data pipelines focused on extraction, ingestion, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) of data.
  • Consolidate data from various sources including on-premises systems, enterprise applications, APIs, databases, SaaS products, streaming platforms, files, and cloud services.
  • Develop multiple ingestion models such as batch processing, incremental updates, change data capture (CDC), streaming, and event-driven pipelines tailored to both business and source system requirements.
  • Architect and oversee cloud-native data stores, hybrid data solutions, data lakes, and analytical datasets.
  • Produce reliable, reusable datasets and data products for use in applications, dashboards, operational reporting, and analytical solutions.

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree holder with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, cloud data engineering, analytics engineering, software engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years practical experience in designing, building, and operating production-grade data pipelines.
  • Proven expertise in data extraction, ingestion strategies, ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and ensuring data quality.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure data services and capabilities.
  • Skilled in integrating data from diverse sources such as APIs, databases, enterprise systems, file stores, and real-time streaming platforms.
  • Experience implementing various data ingestion patterns including batch, incremental, CDC, and event-driven pipelines.
  • Familiarity with both on-premises and cloud environments and an understanding of hybrid data integration architectures.
  • Knowledge and application of software engineering best practices including version control, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring solutions, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) within data engineering contexts.
