Data Center Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Data Center Engineer to oversee and optimize our enterprise server and virtualization infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Linux system administration, virtualization technologies, backup strategies, disaster recovery, system security enhancements, and managing production-grade data center operations.

Key Duties

• Administer and operate enterprise Linux server environments efficiently.
• Continuously monitor server performance, availability, capacity, and overall reliability.
• Manage virtualization solutions including VMware vSphere, Nutanix, and Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Implement and oversee backup, restoration processes, and Disaster Recovery plans.
• Apply system hardening measures following cybersecurity best practices.
• Handle patch management and operating system updates.
• Detect and resolve vulnerabilities in server infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot intricate server and infrastructure issues.
• Engage in business continuity and disaster recovery drills.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation and define operational workflows.
• Ensure data center infrastructure remains stable, secure, and highly available.

Required Qualifications

• At least 8 years of practical experience in systems, servers, or data center infrastructure management.
• Robust experience with Linux operating systems administration.
• Certifications such as RHCSA or CompTIA Linux+ are essential.
• Proven hands-on expertise in one or more virtualization platforms: VMware vSphere, Nutanix, Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Backup and Disaster Recovery techniques.
• Understanding of System Hardening and Patch Management procedures.
• Background working with enterprise infrastructure in live production settings.
