Data Architect – BI Team Technical Lead

Join Malomatia as a Data Architect and Technical Lead for the BI team located in Doha, Qatar. This full-time onsite role involves leading BI developers and overseeing delivery within Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) and Power BI environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of BI developers across OAS and Power BI tracks, assigning and tracking tasks to ensure timely and quality deliverables.
• Oversee all team outputs for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project deadlines and quality benchmarks.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering professional growth.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing support and manage defect resolution processes.
• Architect and implement modern data platforms both on-premises and cloud-based, including operational data stores (ODS), data marts, data warehouses, Lakehouses, and cloud storage solutions.
• Lead the design, development, and deployment of efficient data ingestion pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud data solutions that translate business analytics needs into technical plans.
• Define solution architecture, governance policies, tools selection, and produce comprehensive technical documentation.
• Establish standards and procedures for data modeling, ingestion, design, development, and deployment of data products.
• Manage versioning control of work products and enforce model management standards for conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Support pre-sales engagements by contributing to solution architecture proposals and technical write-ups.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a comparable mix of education and relevant experience.
• 8 to 12 years of practical experience in business intelligence and analytics fields.
• Demonstrated expertise in modern data warehouse and Lakehouse design, construction, and deployment.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with relational SQL, NoSQL databases, and cloud-based data storage architectures.
• Proficiency in developing detailed logical and physical data model design documents, solution architecture frameworks, and training resources.
• Strong understanding of workload optimization, query performance tuning, schema optimization, and data engineering best practices.
• Experience in defining and executing various testing stages including unit, system, and user acceptance tests to continuously refine database design.
• At least 8 years of experience working with enterprise data warehouses.
• Proven ability to produce Functional Design Documents (FDD) and Detailed Design Documents (DDD).
• Strong hands-on expertise with BI platforms such as Oracle 12c, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle Analytics Server (OAS), and Power BI.
• Demonstrable experience leading teams focused on BI or analytics projects.
• Fluency in both Arabic and English languages.
