Cybersecurity Operations Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Operations Engineer to enhance and support all aspects of our security operations, including vulnerability remediation, security hardening, ensuring compliance, and maintaining security controls. This position collaborates closely with IT and infrastructure teams to detect and address security risks and uphold a safeguarded technological environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain cybersecurity operations and security control frameworks.
• Identify, evaluate, and remediate security vulnerabilities throughout IT assets.
• Conduct security hardening procedures on servers, network hardware, and IT infrastructure components.
• Assist with the deployment and upkeep of cybersecurity policies and control measures.
• Support security audits, assessments, and compliance activities.
• Investigate security incidents and resolve related issues.
• Liaise with infrastructure, network, and IT teams to ensure security requirements are met.
• Document security activities, generate reports, and track remediation efforts.
• Contribute to ongoing enhancements of cybersecurity processes and controls.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or closely related disciplines.
• Between 3 to 6 years of professional experience in cybersecurity operations or a similar capacity.
• Proven experience in managing vulnerabilities, implementing security hardening techniques, and maintaining security control systems.
• Sound knowledge of network, server, and overall infrastructure security.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting competencies.
• Preferred certifications include CompTIA Security+ or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
• Additional advantage for CISSP or other relevant vendor security certifications.
