Cyber Security Consultant (DV Security Clearance)

Position Overview

Join CGI as a Cyber Security Consultant, where you'll help safeguard vital systems by incorporating Secure by Design principles and enhancing resilience in the face of evolving cyber threats. You will tackle significant security challenges within government, defense, and other essential sectors by owning security projects and collaborating with a community of cyber experts.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Integrate Secure by Design principles across solution and system lifecycles to embed robust security controls.
• Assess cyber security risks in business, technical, and operational contexts, providing risk evaluations and advice.
• Partner with technical and business stakeholders to drive security considerations during architecture and design phases.
• Support clients in strengthening security controls and protecting critical assets.
• Develop and maintain cyber security policies, procedures, and risk management approaches.
• Analyze threat intelligence to identify vulnerabilities and recommend suitable mitigations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, challenge assumptions, and communicate security risks and solutions effectively.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation to enhance security practices continuously.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Strong understanding and practical application of Secure by Design principles.
• Experience working with recognized security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework, Cyber Essentials/Plus, and NIST.
• Proven ability to formulate cyber security policies and security requirements.
• Competence in conducting security risk assessments, threat identification, and implementing mitigations.
• Familiarity with data protection, privacy, and security change management.
• Knowledge of business continuity, organizational resilience, and incident response processes.
• Good understanding of networks, core infrastructure, and systems.
• Strong communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders clearly.
• Desirable certifications include CISSP, CISM, and/or CRISC.

Additional Information

This position requires you to hold or be eligible for UK Developed Vetting (DV) Security Clearance due to the program's sensitive nature. The role is based onsite in Basingstoke, with a full five-day workweek at the client location.
