Customer Service Representative

Overview

U-Haul is seeking personable and motivated individuals to join their team as Customer Service Representatives. This role involves teaming up with supportive colleagues to embody U-Haul's dedication to superior customer service by assisting customers and ensuring the maintenance and inspection of rental equipment. The position provides hands-on on-the-job training and the opportunity for ongoing education through U-Haul University.

Responsibilities

• Support customers both inside and outside the U-Haul facility regarding products and services.
• Utilize smartphone-based U-Scan technology to oversee equipment rentals and inventory.
• Physically handle U-Haul trucks and trailers, including moving and connecting them.
• Perform cleaning and inspection of lot equipment, including checking fluid levels.
• Provide customers with product knowledge and answer their inquiries.
• Prepare rental invoices and manage equipment returns.
• Install hitches and trailer wiring components.
• Fill propane tanks, with certification provided after hiring.
• Operate forklifts upon completing provided certification.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid driver's license with the ability to maintain a clean driving record.
• Completion of high school diploma or an equivalent qualification.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The role involves moderate exposure to workplace hazards, requiring adherence to safety measures including the use of protective gear such as masks, gloves, goggles, or shields as needed. Physically, incumbents must be capable of periods of stationary work, moving around indoor and outdoor locations, reaching varying heights, and handling equipment weighing at least 50 pounds, either with assistance or independently.
