Position Overview
Serving as a Customer Service Manager at a leading retail company offers an excellent chance to enhance leadership and operational capabilities within a dynamic retail setting. This role entails guiding front-end operations to deliver outstanding customer experiences, encourage shopping satisfaction, and cultivate customer loyalty. Additionally, the manager ensures adherence to corporate procedures and operational standards, contributing to smooth and efficient store functions. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain safety and security by enforcing proper work practices, emergency protocols, correct lifting techniques, clean working areas, managing inactive registers, immediate response to emergency codes, and supporting anti-theft and evacuation steps.
- Address concerns raised by customers and colleagues tactfully, offering guidance to resolve issues and ensure a welcoming front-end environment.
- Supervise front-end operations by ensuring sufficient staff coverage, arranging breaks, and supporting registers requiring additional assistance to keep customer service flowing efficiently.
- Educate associates on systems and company protocols including scanning precision, productivity benchmarks, company initiatives, discount policies, electronic article surveillance processes, and safety measures.
- Manage purchase, refund, and exchange transactions with approval authority, assist in error correction, and verify compliance with company rules.
- Support loss prevention by confirming electronic article surveillance systems function correctly, ensuring cashiers disable merchandise alarms properly, overseeing alarm handling by greeters, and maintaining accurate failure logs.
- Oversee register cash handling by preparing registers for opening and closing, assisting cashiers with change needs, keeping appropriate cash levels, and conducting cash audits to ensure accuracy.
- Promote and manage company programs such as credit card services, protection plans, charitable activities, and discount offerings for customers and associates.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands and maintain consistent customer service quality.
Challenges in the Role
- Effectively manage a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced environment, including overnight shifts, by maintaining energy and focus through planning.
- Handle significant restocking and recovery duties with precision and punctuality.
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as standing for long periods, bending, lifting supplies weighing up to 20 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally, and repetitively organizing products to meet store standards.

Compensation
The starting wage for this position is $16.95 per hour.
