Customer Delivery Driver - Truro Superstore

Position Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver representing Tesco, you will be the company’s ambassador on the road, delivering groceries directly to customers' homes. This role extends beyond driving; it involves providing exceptional service with a friendly attitude. The job is physically engaging, varied day-to-day, and requires a proactive and independent work style supported by a team at the base.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and work environment to guarantee customers receive their orders in excellent condition.
• Perform safe loading of the delivery vehicle and conduct all necessary checks to ensure the vehicle is safe, reliable, and ready for service.
• Communicate effectively with customers about any changes, substitutions, or short-dated goods in their orders, maintaining a friendly and reassuring approach and managing refunds when necessary.
• Handle all products with care, treating each order as if it were your own to maintain high quality and customer confidence.
• Deliver orders within the designated customer time slots, providing warm, natural service at their home entrance and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possess a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Demonstrate ability to build positive relationships with colleagues to foster a supportive team environment and deliver excellent customer service.
• Exhibit a warm and welcoming demeanor towards both customers and coworkers.
• Adapt quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change both on the road and within the store.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting pay at £14.18 per hour, with an increase to £15.45 in M25 locations; additional location-based payments may apply.
• Guaranteed minimum of 16 hours per week, with some roles available from 12 hours weekly.
