Customer Delivery Driver - Thirsk Superstore

About the Role

As a Customer Delivery Driver representing Tesco, you play a vital role in delivering excellent service directly to customers at their homes. This position involves much more than just driving; it requires a friendly attitude, physical activity, and a dynamic routine where no two shifts are alike. Independent work is key, supported by a team of managers and colleagues available for assistance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery van, trays, and work area to ensure customers receive their groceries in perfect condition.
• Load the delivery vehicle safely, performing all necessary checks to confirm the van is roadworthy and reliable for daily delivery operations.
• Communicate courteously with customers about any order modifications, substitutions, or short-dated products, facilitating refunds as needed to ensure a smooth experience.
• Handle all products with care, treating each order as personal, to uphold high quality standards and customer trust.
• Deliver products within scheduled time slots, providing warm and genuine service at the doorstep to make customers feel appreciated and well cared for.

Requirements

• Build positive working relationships with colleagues to foster a cooperative team environment aimed at delivering top-tier service.
• Exhibit a warm and welcoming demeanor toward both customers and team members.
• Adapt quickly to changing customer needs and embrace flexibility while driving and working in-store.
• Possess a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
