Customer Delivery Driver - Kingsteignton Superstore

Overview

As the public representative of Tesco on the roads, Customer Delivery Drivers visit customers at their homes daily. This role goes beyond just driving; it's about assisting customers and providing outstanding service with friendliness. The job is active, hands-on, and varied, ensuring no two shifts are alike. You will primarily work independently but have the support of managers and colleagues at the base whenever necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your delivery van, trays, and workspace to ensure every customer receives their order in impeccable condition.
• Safely load the van and carry out required checks to confirm the vehicle is roadworthy and ready to deliver excellent service.
• Communicate any order modifications, substitutions, or short-dated items to customers in a friendly and reassuring manner, facilitating refunds as necessary to ensure a smooth experience.
• Handle all products with care, treating each delivery as if it were your own to uphold quality and customer trust.
• Deliver orders within the assigned time slots, offering warm and genuine service at the doorstep to make customers feel valued and well cared for.

Candidate Requirements

• Develop strong relationships with colleagues to foster a positive team environment and deliver the best service possible to customers.
• Be approachable, friendly, and welcoming to both customers and team members.
• Adapt quickly to changing customer needs and embrace flexibility while on the road and at the store.
• Possess a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving license (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with a maximum of 3 penalty points.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting pay of £14.18 per hour; increases to £15.45 in stores located within the M25 area. Some locations may offer additional incentives.
• A guaranteed minimum of 16 working hours per week with roles available from 12 hours per week.
