Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the company positively at every customer's doorstep, ensuring a warm and thoughtful delivery experience.
  • Drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to transport groceries safely and punctually.
  • Conduct pre-trip checks to verify the vehicle's cleanliness, organization, and roadworthiness, as well as securing customers' orders before departure.
  • Follow assigned routes while adapting to diverse traffic, weather, and road environments with a strong safety focus.
  • Handle and transport shopping containers weighing up to 15 kilograms, delivering to various property types that may include steps, lifts, or extended distances from the vehicle.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers by providing updates on deliveries, handling inquiries, and managing any order modifications.
  • Assist within the store during downtime from deliveries as needed.

Candidate Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years old with a full UK or EU driving licence held for over 12 months, and no more than six penalty points.
  • Pass an online driving risk assessment as part of the interview process and a driving test upon joining.
  • Have legal eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Be willing to comply with in-cab AI camera monitoring designed to promote safe and compliant driving behaviors.
  • Possess a friendly and customer-focused demeanor, showing genuine enthusiasm in delivering an exceptional doorstep service.
  • Comfortably and safely operate a larger delivery vehicle in a variety of environments, ranging from urban centers to narrow rural lanes.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, physically active setting, including repeatedly lifting containers up to 15kg.
  • Demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving skills, and safe decision-making while on the road.
  • Capable of both independent work and contributing positively to the store team.
  • Flexible and open to supporting different store areas and embracing new challenges.
  • Eager to learn new skills and improve delivery services, including the use of delivery route technology.

Benefits and Support
