Customer Assistant - Gort

Overview

Join Lidl Ireland as a Customer Assistant where every day is focused on delivering an excellent shopping experience. This role is based at the Gort store in County Galway and involves working various shifts to support store operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with a friendly and helpful attitude throughout their shopping journey.
• Adhere strictly to stock loss prevention practices across store areas.
• Ensure the store and surrounding exterior are maintained to high cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Manage product freshness by following correct stock rotation procedures.
• Handle waste disposal responsibly and assist in stocktaking activities.
• Conduct sales transactions on tills promptly to minimize customer wait times.
• Prepare bakery items and ensure the shop floor is fully stocked before opening.

Work Patterns

• Morning Shift: Starting early (5am or 6am) to prepare bakery products and stock shelves.
• Midday Shift: Focus on store presentation, assisting customers, and operating tills.
• Evening Shift: Restock items, serve customers at tills, and ready the store for the following day.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old due to alcohol sale regulations.
• Positive and customer-centric mindset with eagerness to provide excellent service.
• Reliability, responsibility, and willingness to work in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
• Good teamwork skills, with previous customer-facing experience advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive pay starting at €15.40 per hour, increasing up to €17.90 per hour after three years.
• Additional pay for unsocial hours (midnight to 7am), overtime, Sundays, and bank holidays with rates increasing each year.
