About the Role
Join Lidl Ireland as a Customer Assistant where your primary focus is to provide an outstanding shopping experience for customers. This role is dynamic, with varied tasks across shifts and teamwork being essential to success. Please note, selling alcohol requires candidates to be 18 years or older.
Typical Daily Activities
- Morning shifts start at 5am or 6am, focusing on stocking award-winning products and preparing bakery items before store opening.
- Middle shifts begin mid-morning to early afternoon, emphasizing store cleanliness, product freshness, customer assistance, and managing tills to reduce wait times.
- Late shifts from afternoon onwards involve serving customers at the till, restocking items, and setting up the store for the following day.
Key Responsibilities
- Engaging with customers in a friendly and helpful manner
- Ensuring compliance with stock loss prevention procedures
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene both inside and outside the store
- Adhering to freshness and stock rotation policies
- Managing waste appropriately
- Participating in stocktaking activities

Compensation and Benefits
Lidl offers a clear and competitive salary structure promoting pay equality, starting at €15.40 per hour, increasing to €17.90 after three years, with supplementary pay for unsocial hours, overtime, and holidays. - Year 1: €15.40 basic rate; €19.25 for unsocial hours; €23.10 overtime/Sundays; €30.80 bank holidays
- Year 2: €16.20 basic rate; €20.25 unsocial hours; €24.30 overtime/Sundays; €32.40 bank holidays
- Year 3: €16.90 basic rate; €21.13 unsocial hours; €25.35 overtime/Sundays; €33.80 bank holidays
- Year 4: €17.90 basic rate; €22.38 unsocial hours; €26.85 overtime/Sundays; €35.80 bank holidays
